- Zinc selenide lens is usually used in high-power CO2 laser system because zinc selenide (ZnSe) has low absorption coefficient and high thermal expansion coefficient.
However, since zinc selenide (ZnSe) is relatively soft (Knoop hardness is 120) and easy to scratch, it is not recommended to be used in harsh environment. Pay attention to uniform force when holding and cleaning, so that you can wear finger covers or gloves.
- With positive focal length, Plano convex lens is often used in imaging or beam collimation. Coated lens is also widely used in visible light and near-infrared applications.
