- High purity germanium single crystal has high refractive index, is transparent to infrared, does not pass through visible light and ultraviolet light, and can be used as germanium window, prism or lens for infrared light.
- The light absorption capacity of germanium increases with the increase of temperature. More than 100℃ has a significant impact on the light transmittance, which seriously affects the performance of the optical system. Germanium components are usually coated with antireflection film because of their high surface reflectivity.
